Governor Bullock Announces Grants to Grow 34 Native American-Owned Small Businesses

Business owners and entrepreneurs will share $350,000 in Indian Equity Fund Small Business grants

Governor Steve Bullock today announced $350,000 in funding to support the growth of 34 Native American-owned small businesses in each of the eight Tribal Nations in Montana through the Indian Equity Fund Small Business Grant program at the Montana Department of Commerce.

Governor Mike Cooney today visited the Great Falls Public Library to see firsthand how the library is continuing to provide essential services to the public, including serving as a 2020 Census Be Counted Site and utilizing a $10,000 state Coronavirus Relief Fund grant to create a drive thru window to ensure Montanans have access to library services while minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Commerce Announces 5 New Montana Main Street Communities

Havre, Mont.

The Montana Department of Commerce announced Thursday that five Montana communities have been accepted to become affiliate members of the Montana Main Street Program. The program helps Montana communities strengthen and preserve historic downtown commercial districts by supporting economic development, urban revitalization and historic preservation through long-range planning, organization, design and promotion.

The Montana Department of Commerce is currently accepting applications for its Tourism Grant Program. Up to $750,000 will be awarded to projects that strengthen Montana’s economy through the development and enhancement of the State’s tourism and recreation industry.
