HELENA, Mont. – The Department of Commerce will bring five Montana businesses to a Western Canadian tradeshow focused on building and construction products and services Feb. 12-13.
The Commerce Department will host the companies at a Montana pavilion on the showroom floor of “BuildEx” in Vancouver, where the Montana-based companies will showcase their products to an estimated audience of 14,000 industry representatives.
“Montana businesses are doing big things at home and all over the world,” said Commerce Director Tara Rice. “From turning Montanans’ innovative ideas into business opportunities, to breaking into new, international markets, Commerce is here every step of the way to support sustainable industries that strengthen our state’s economy.”
The Export Montana office at Commerce organized the trip to facilitate international exposure and important business growth opportunities for the Montana businesses. Commerce assisted the business owners by providing financial support for their booth and travel expenses, funded in-part by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s State Trade Expansion Program.
The five Montana companies participating in the 2020 BuildEx Vancouver Tradeshow are:
- Montana Tank Works – Billings
- Trusslox LLC – Billings
- Ideal Manufacturing Inc. – Billings
- Titan Straps – Bozeman
- Construction Specialties Inc. – Helena
Canada is Montana’s top trading partner. In 2018, Montana exports to Canada totaled $692 million. Montana exported nearly $80 million in building and construction-related products in 2018.
Through the Export Montana office at Commerce, Montana-based businesses can gain access to resources and international markets to help them grow and diversify their customer bases.
