HELENA, Mont. – Department of Commerce Director Tara Rice on Wednesday will present the 2018 Exporter of the Year award to a Kalispell manufacturing business at a ceremony open to the media.
ClassOne Technology will receive the distinction, which is awarded by the Montana District Export Council. The ExportMontana office at Commerce is a member of the Montana DEC.
“With its proven commitment to doing business in Montana and its impressive growth over the past year, ClassOne is well deserving of this honor,” said Director Rice.
ClassOne designs, manufactures, tests and ships semiconductor equipment from its facility in Kalispell while sourcing key supplies from other Montana businesses. In 2018, its staff grew 67 percent to 75 employees, and its exports grew 173 percent to $6 million. The company’s export markets include more than 10 countries in Asia and Europe.
“As ClassOne continues to grow, so do our export markets,” said Vice President of Operations Jason Manger. “Expanding our global presence has increased our customer base and sales opportunities. Being able to assemble a great team here in Kalispell has been key to our growth and success. I will echo what one of our employees said: It's pretty cool to work for a leading-edge company shipping our products all over the world and still live in the beautiful state of Montana.”
