American Prairie Reserve's mission is to create the largest nature reserve in the continental United States, a refuge for people and wildlife preserved forever as part of America's heritage.

When complete, the Reserve will be larger than Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks combined and will support all the animals that historically called the Great Plains home, including buffalo, wolves, bears, elk, deer, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, swift fox, upland birds including the greater sage grouse, birds of prey, and all manner of snakes, amphibians, and insects.

Today, American Prairie is a freestanding Montana-based nonprofit that started to assemble land in 2004. Our main focus is to purchase and permanently hold title to private lands that glue together a vast mosaic of existing public lands so that the region is managed thoughtfully and collaboratively with state and federal agencies for wildlife conservation and public access. Andy Austin

Andy Austin is an adventure photographer who grew up in the mountains of Montana. Crown of the Continent Geotourism Council

The Crown of the Continent-spanning corners of Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana-provides visitors with 73,000 square kilometres (28,000 square miles) of spellbinding scenery and a good chance to spy bighorn sheep, mountain goats, elk, or, with luck, the monarch of the Crown-the grizzly bear. Montana Dinosaur Trail

The Montana Dinosaur Trail connects 14 museums and interpretive centers in 12 central and eastern Montana communities. The mission of the Montana Historical Society is to promote an understanding and appreciation of Montana's cultural heritage-past, present, and future.
