Company Profile

Sun Tours is starting its 24th operating season as an authorized Interpretive Native/Blackfeet Bus Tour Concessioner of Glacier National Park Montana and Blackfeet Country Montana.  Sun Tours is independently owned and operated by Ed and Toni DesRosier (A Blackfeet Tribal Chartered Business).  Now living in St Mary, Montana, Ed and his wife Toni are enrolled members of the Blackfeet and Assiniboine Sioux Tribes.  Sun Tours became a reality in 1992, with the vision of success and sharing knowledge of this fascinating place.  It has been Sun Tours’ Mission to educate and inspire all to a higher respect, appreciation, and understanding of the Blackfeet world.  Ed approached the Glacier National Park to explore the inclusion of the Native History and Cultural aspects of the Blackfeet Ancestral Home Land.  At that time, the Park’s existing interpretation of Blackfeet Tribal Cultural History was vacant/minimal.  As a life-time resident of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, Ed envisioned Blackfeet Guides possessing extensive knowledge and all-encompassing history and experience of the landscape of Glacier National Park’s inhabited areas:  Park history, animal species, common plants and roots used for nutrition and medicine; and the spiritual and philosophical perspectives/stories of the Blackfeet people.  Sun Tours' central fleet is located in the central part of East Glacier (Highway 2) across from the Amtrak Depot on Main Street.  Daily service is offered at West Glacier, East Glacier Park, Browning, and St. Mary’s areas.

Wonderful day  "Dan, our tour guide, picked us up punctually and provided an interesting and entertaining tour of the Going-to-the-Sun Road from the East side to the weeping wall. We stopped at several photo sites and spent an hour at Logan's pass. It was a highlight of a 3600 mile road trip..." (August 19,  2016)

Scenic Going to the Sun Tour with a Blackfeet Guide  "Our Blackfeet guide knew the area and pointed out all the sites and also gave us informative information re the Blackfeet culture.  We were picked up at and returned to our hotel. It was an all day tour with a lunch stop of your choice. There were many scenic photo stops along the way. It was a real treat to not only get a wonderful tour but also heat about the Blackfeet from a native Blackfeet." (August 15, 2015)

Excellent tour of Glacier " We took this tour our first day in the Glacier Park area. This bus tour company is owned by Native Americans, the Blackfeet. We chose this one to be our first excursion in the park so we would get the "true story" of the park. The tour was awesome. The driver/guide, Sterling, gave the history of the park from the Native American point of view. It was very interesting and educational.  I recommend this tour for everyone visiting Glacier."
