Montana-made feature film Certain Women, which shot in Livingston, Mont. in March and April of this year, has received official selection to premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. Announced by the Sundance Institute Monday, Dec. 7, Certain Women is among only 15 feature films selected as festival premieres, “a showcase of world premieres of some of the most highly anticipated narrative films of the coming year.”

Governor Bullock and Director O'Leary Announce Grants to Support Film Production in Montana

HELENA – Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Department of Commerce Director Meg O’Leary today announced the award of $281,519 in Big Sky Film grants to support the production of 21 new film and multimedia projects taking place in Montana.
 
“There are so many talented media makers doing business and creating valuable content in Montana,” said Bullock. “They are part of a growing industry that impacts many Montana communities and I am glad we can support these efforts that showcase all our state has to offer.”

Competition Offers Cash Prizes for Short Films

HELENA – Montana residents have a chance to show off their state pride while competing for $40,000 in prizes through a short film contest offered by the Audience Awards and sponsored by the Montana Office of Tourism.

The Real Montana Short Film Competition is accepting submissions of one-minute videos featuring Montana. Five categories are available: Food and Beverage; Artists, Culture and Events; Places; Outdoor Adventure; and Wildlife and Scenery. The public will vote to pick winners from each category.
