International Marketing Assistance Program Banner

The Montana International Marketing Assistance Program (MIMAP) grant is a state-federal partnership, funded by a grant from the Small Business Administration, providing financial assistance to qualified Montana small businesses for international marketing efforts in beginning exporting or market expansion.

It is designed to help increase the number of small businesses that are exporting and to raise the value of exports for those small businesses that are currently exporting so they can grow and create more jobs.

Export Planning Assistance

  • One-on-one export counseling: ExportMontana staff will meet with you to help with any of your export questions.
  • International market research: ExportMontana staff will research international markets for your export planning needs.
  • ExporTech export strategy training (general information): Hosted by the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, with ExportMontana as a partner.

 

Trade Missions

Eligible companies: First-time or experienced exporters from multiple industries can participate.

Support: Grant funds are available to costs: up to $2400 towards the mission fee and travel costs.

  1. Information and Communication Technologies and Services Trade Mission (more information), March 12-16, 2017, Singapore & Vietnam. Open to any Montana business interested in selling information and communication technologies and services to markets in Singapore and Vietnam.  Hosted by the US Dept. of Commerce with in-country ExportMontana staff support. 
  2. Power Technologies Trade Mission (more information), March 12-16, 2017, Saudi Arabia & the United Arab Emirates.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling power technologies, including generation, transmission and distribution equipment, to markets in Saudi Arabia & the UAE.  Hosted by the US Department of Commerce.
  3. Central America Trade Mission (more information), March 26-31, 2017 , Choose from: Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Belize, Panama.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling in Central America. Hosted by the US Dept. of Commerce with in-country ExportMontana staff support.
  4. Cyber-Security Trade Mission (Details not yet available), June 19-23, Canada.  Open to any Montana business interested in cyber-security products and services to markets in Canada.  Hosted by the US Department of Commerce with in-country ExportMontana staff support.
  5. Australia Trade Mission, Tentatively August 21-25, 2017 (Details not yet available), Markets in or near Sydney, Australia.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling in Australia.  Hosted by the State of Montana with in-country support from ExportMontana and US Commercial Service staff. Mission participants may also participate in the Montana Pavilion at AIMEX, if applicable.

 

Trade Shows

  1. Discover Global Markets - Advanced Manufacturing (show information), February15-17, 2017, Scottsdale, AZ.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling advanced manufacturing products and services.  Hosted by the US Department of Commerce. 
  2. Montana Pavilion at Wine & Gourmet Japan (show information), April 12-14, 2017, Tokyo, Japan.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling wine, beer, and distilled spirits to markets in Japan and the Pacific Rim.  Our staff contracts for the booth space and provides all of the booth amenities (furniture, electricity, etc.), promoting cooperatively as Montana.  Individual companies can promote their products and services from smaller kiosks within the booth and set up one-on-one business meetings.  Hosted by ExportMontana with pre-show training and in-country staff support.
  3. Aero Engine Forum (more information), April 18-20, 2017, United Kingdom.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling Aero-Engines and the Aerospace Supply Chain products and services to markets in the United Kingdom and Europe.  This is a unique venue for suppliers to interact with Rolls-Royce, UTC Aerospace, Moog and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) through pre-arranged business-to-business meetings.  Hosted by ExportMontana with pre-show training and in-country staff support.
  4. Montana Pavilion at Laser World of Photonics (show information), June 26-29, 2017, Munich, Germany.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling photonics products and services to markets in Germany and Europe.  Our staff contracts for the booth space and provides all of the booth amenities (furniture, electricity, etc.), promoting cooperatively as Montana.  Individual companies can promote their products and services from smaller kiosks within the booth and set up one-on-one business meetings.  Hosted by ExportMontana with pre-show training and in-country staff support.
  5. Montana Pavilion at AIMEX trade show (show information), August 29-31, 2017, Sydney, Australia.  Open to any Montana business interested in selling mining technology, equipment and services to markets in Australia and the Asia-Pacific countries. Our staff contracts for the booth space and provides all of the booth amenities (furniture, electricity, etc.), promoting cooperatively as Montana.  Individual companies can promote their products and services from smaller kiosks within the booth and set up one-on-one business meetings.  Hosted by ExportMontana with pre-show training and in-country staff support. Show participants may also participate in the Australia Trade Mission.
