Indian Country Programs

Indian Country Programs provide all of the business resources available to Native American businesses and tribal governments in Montana under one office.  From the Governor appointed State Tribal Economic Development Commission comprised of economic development leaderships from each of the eight tribal governments in Montana to our finance programs (Tribal Business Planning Grant, Indian Equity Fund Small Business Grants, and Native American Collateral Support), technical assistance (Native American Business Advisors), and Native language programming (Montana Indian Language Programs), the Indian Country Programs touches many aspects of tribal economic development in Montana.

Funding for the family of programs under the ICED funding (Tribal Business Planning Grant (TBPG), Indian Equity Fund (IEF) Small Business Grant, and the Native American Business Advisors (NABA) Grant) was passed by the 65th Montana State Legislature as part of House Bill 2, state special revenue, and signed into law by Governor Steve Bullock in May 2017.  These programs allow the Indian Country Programs to continue to articulate measurable success for investing in business and economic development activities on reservations in partnership with tribal governments for the benefit of tribal communities and members.  More information for each program can be seen by clicking on the picture button at the bottom of this page for each program mentioned.
